When a rookie meets Magnus Carlsen

When you think you have a million-dollar idea and meet someone who has already implemented one that is many times better than the one you originally thought about, it’s heartbreaking. I faced a similar situation at the India Electronics Week 2018.

As I was relentlessly going through each and every stall that I believed mattered, I came across this one overcrowded one and decided to wait there till I got a good view.

y5htpjtlTheir logo and banners suggested they dealt with something liquid, and I had a water filtration solution in mind. After recently getting to know about the benefits of Kangen Water and the probable death of other water filtration techniques I decided it was not worth the time.

Just when I was about to divert to a new exhibit, a product flyer caught my attention.

A device that has the capabilities of a multimeter and an oscilloscope, has a clean and intuitive interface and above all, is real-time. One couldn’t ask for anything more

Key Differences:

  • They are supposedly selling it as an educational product
  • Input voltage limit of 2V
  • Output voltage limit of 10V
  • I didn’t have an FPGA in mind (probably because I hadn’t used them for anything more than implementing some basic logic gates)
  • comes at a whopping $5000 excluding tax and duties

Ahha plenty of things to work on!  :P
